Lloyd Moritz has great insight into the direction major tech companies are heading when it comes to what we think of as artificial intelligence. AI, Machine Learning, Bots, and Virtual Assistants. These are all somewhat different, but still employ some of the same tech and will end up achieving the same general goal: To think for us.

Admittedly, we often take a more positive view of Microsoft than perhaps the average consumer may. This episode is an exception. David has had about enough of Microsoft lately, so we asked Adam Doud to join us so that we can properly criticize the company, and especially, Windows 10 Mobile.
True to form, Adam has to remind us how webOS has paved the way for everything that is good about the current reigning mobile platforms. Also, the Cubs game was a good distraction during the show. Overall, it was an incredible episode.
Be sure to check out Adam's work at Pocketnow, and his podcast, TekBeard.
7:57 Ken Bone. The human version of a hug.
12:25 David shares his recent shift in opinion.
18:36 Be public with your praise and private with your criticism. Unless you review things for a living.
28:07 David talks about Zune. Why? Well, what kind of show would it be if Zune wasn't mentioned?
31:43 Which part(s) of "Microsoft Mobile" are "dead"? Windows 10 itself is still pretty awesome.
35:01 Is UWP the answer? To anything?
38:21 We hear about Adam's recent blog post about "Microsoft Killing the Lumia".
48:13 Maybe Windows is just meant to be on desktop, and not on phone.
52:45 Who should buy the Acer Liquid Jade Primo?
1:06:52 Is Continuum worth adopting now?
1:07:28 Tip of the Episode.

Too often, technology enthusiasts do not fully understand the financial choices made by the companies they value. Recently, Vernon tried to explain the news of Microsoft buying back stock from shareholders, and failed pitifully at it. Listener of the show Blake Latson offered to help explain what some of the financial announcements really meant, and Vernon gladly accepted!
Blake shares with us the Microsoft products and services he uses in his daily life, both professionally and personally. He explains Microsoft's stock buy back program, some of the basics of stock investing, and some great insight into the US corporate tax code.

Since David was unavailable this week, we were fortunate enough to have Aaron Hall (@GoodThings2Life) join us for episode 74.
Both Aaron and Vernon discuss some of their experiences regarding the two keynote sessions held on Monday.
Skype Rooms Systems, the ridiculous number of Skype apps, changes to OneDrive Selective Sync, and leaked Surface peripheral devices are talked about.
The discussion continues, with the topics features moving towards parity among Office apps on all platforms, the general shift that email communication taking, the specific Outlook variations, including Focused Inbox, Black Theme coming to the preview pane, and broad new UI changes to the Win32 and web versions.
The two finish off the show by venturing into the speculation zone regarding what they think what will happen, and what should happen with the Surface line of products.

Many technology enthusiasts end up playing tech support for their friends and families. Often our loved ones rely on us to make the right choices for us, when it comes to a meaningful purchase of a piece of tech. Vernon and David talk about some new devices for their family members on the horizon.
Also, the two hosts ask for listener feedback, and, (dare we say it?) ask for you to take action!

This is one of the very few shows that we've recorded without putting together any host notes. We just share an enjoyable conversation. Miraculously, Surface AIO, Word Flow for iOS, Cerulean Mobile, HP Elite X3, and Microsoft Ignite do manage to work their way into the show. Below are the details. Enjoy!
Vernon reminisces about the Glance and Go podcast episode with Sean Johnson in which he had to re-record an entire episode because he powered off his PC. Hear "Passing The WinPhan Baton" here.
The phrase "Poop in a group" rears its ugly head.
Graphics Interchange Format debate returns. Our polarized opinions of the topic turn to a surprisingly mild, polite, and politically-correct argument.
Somehow we discuss iTunes reviews. Speaking of that, please take a moment to give us a review!
Side note: Choosy moms and choosy dads choose Jif.
Fortunately for you, we did actually talk about an upcoming Microsoft product, and we even have an inside tip on it! (Surface AIO)
Is a smartphone an all-in-one device?
David empties his download folder. Somehow we make a useful (you decide) conversation out of it. Vernon's download folder sulks away in shame.
Wharton Brooks' Cerulean Mobile is still having a meetup, but it has been postponed. If you are interested, be sure to follow and engage with them on Twitter @CeruleanMobile
What specs do Windows Mobile enthusiasts need to be satisfied with their phone?
Vernon forgets which laptop he wants. We both discuss what we need in a laptop, which was obviously not something we prepared for. Anyone have an extra Dell XPS 13 they need to liberate?
Is the HP Elite X3 a good enough device? Should it be reviewed "as-is", or is waiting for the update a fair thing to do?
Elon Musk's automobile line makes a quick cameo.
The Microsoft Ignite Conference is happening, September 25th through the 2
Surface Smiths will be interviewing Windows Insiders at the conference!
Vernon will be attending as a member of the press
We share a pure unadulterated geek moment.
Old cheese product versus old real cheddar. There is no contest.
"Leave the gold. Take the cheese."
David's music pick is Tape 5
Vernon's app pick is Word Flow for iOS
David recommends Clamour again, the new third-party Discord app, which doesn't seem to be in the Store quite yet. Expect it soon!
Stuff they don't want you to know is Vernon's podcast pick.
Tip of the Episode: "Fake it until you make it"

This week we have a little bit of everything. David has finished his mod and it is now available for your enjoyment! Vernon shares his newly-revealed addiction to old cheese.
Both of us are truly excited about the news that WhartonBrooks has a new Windows 10 Mobile device in the works, going with the brand name of Cerulean Mobile. If you click only one like in these show notes, take a moment to check out their progress by listening to the WhartonBrooks / Cerulean Mobile podcast on Soundcloud. Also, you can search with the term "whartonbrooks" in most podcast apps. Be sure to follow them on Twitter: @ceruleanmobile or @whartonbrooks. Like them on Facebook: Cerulean Mobile & Wharton Brooks, and check out the FAQs for Cerulean Mobile. We are super excited to learn more about this as the journey continues!
Yes, we talked about the newly-announced Apple mobile device. Well, mostly we just told you to go back and listen to episode 45 where Vernon and David debated the merits and downfalls of wired and wireless headphones. Enjoy it here!
Skype Teams has been leaked. We spend lots of time gushing over it and picking it apart. Making fun of the GIF sharing mechanism was the easiest part.

Vernon and David discuss Twitter and Slack feedback.
We discuss how to disconnect Facebook apps
Windows Phone apps like Amazon are going away, but UWP app versions are coming out
Darrell gets an Xbox Live gamertag: TowJam
Fitbit and Health Vault no longer integrate
Discussion about using Microsoft apps or 3rd party ones as the primary app
Yammer apps have gotten updates on iOS and Android
Third party Discord app Clamour coming soon to Windows Phone
App picks: Vinci photo app, Clamour Discord app
Music picks: fun., "I Can, Can You" Vanessa-Mae
Podcast pick: Archive 81
Twitter tip: replying to your own tweets
Chances are that if you regularly listen to this podcast, you are probably running Windows 10 on your main PC. The fact remains though, that many people are still using Windows 7 on their work devices. On this episode, Vernon and David compare the two operating systems, how they use them differently, and their favorite features of each version. Personal app, music, and podcast picks are also shared as usual.
Thanks for listening!

Microsoft employee and friend of the show, Darrell Prichard, joins Vernon and David for another round. Few filters are utilized, which is true to form.
The three talk about recent Groove updates, Groove failures, and legally sharing music through OneDrive.
Butter seems to get mentioned much more often than usual.
The new Skype UWP is available, but only for those willing to jump through a few hoops. Nevertheless, it is well worth it.
The show wouldn't be complete without personal app, music, and podcast picks.
Also, there is one particular app not on Windows Phone/Mobile that we make a point NOT to mention. You're welcome.
We really hope Darrell's manager lets him come back on the show again.
On this episode of the MS Mobile Show, we discuss the fact that as popular as Pokemon Go is, it is unlikely that the hit game will make an appearance on Windows Mobile anytime soon if at all.
We also discuss the reappearance of the Lumia 1520 on AT&T for what we consider to be an outrageous price for a 3 year old phone and much more.

We appreciate every one of you who listens to the MS Mobile Show on a regular basis. We love the interactions as well. Without you the listener, the show becomes a pair of guys rambling on.
The show is produced and accessible for you at absolutely no cost to you other than time to listen.
While we love to bring this show to you, we would love to be able to have some more fun and have the ability to be able to buy things like T-shirts, coffee mugs, devices and software to be able to do regular giveaways like other websites and podcasts.
To do this, we would ask if you could spare as little as $1 per month ($12 a year) to help us achieve this in 2016. As many listeners as we have, according to our stats, we could do some serious giveaways if every listener signed up for just $1 per month.

We are pleased to be joined by Sean "WinPhan" Johnson on this episode of the MS Mobile Show! Both Sean and David V. Kimball have held the "WinPhan" title over the last few years, so it is a treat to have both of them on the same show at the same time.
We also are a little light in the show notes area this week, so we apologize for that. A lot of great discussion about some of the latest Windows Mobile device news along with talking about the fast pace of fast ring builds for both mobile and PC.

After the Father's Day weekend, Vernon and David kick off the show talking about how the weekend was for each of them. Vernon has gotten his replacement Band 2 finally and that leads to a discussion about friends and the challenges feature with the Band 2.
This might be a little light on tech news discussion but we have a feeling that you are going to enjoy hearing these two this week.

As always, thank you for listening and/or watching!
